Free dough with donation

Thousands of children have been displaced, wounded and killed because of the Israel-Gaza war that started on October 6th, 2023. The images, videos, and accompanying news stories are horrific and heartbreaking. As a mother, a Jewish person, and a human being, I am at a loss for what I can do to effect any change. I imagine others in my community feel similarly.

One way I cope with emotionally tumultuous times is through baking or cooking. This week I am cooking up a huge batch of sensory dough. The act of making it is therapeutic for me, and the dough itself is a great sensory regulation tool for kids that may be picking up on the surrounding stress.

I am gifting dough to families who donate $40 or more to one of the below non-profit organizations:

  • Anera

How your donation can help directly through Anera:

    • $30 can provide the Central Blood Bank Society in Gaza with 16 blood bags - blood bags are a vital element in ensuring patient survival during a crisis

    • $50 can feed 33 adults with a hearty meal of chicken and rice

    • $80 can provide a hygiene kit to two displaced families - these kits include hand soap, shampoo, toilet paper, laundry detergent, toothpaste, and more

    • $100 can provide a displaced family with a food parcel that will meet their nutritional needs for 5 days - these food parcels include canned meat, cheese, kidney beans, jam, za'atar, and more

    • $200 can provide two displaced families with food parcels to meet their nutritional needs

  • Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF)

MSF is actively working on preparing medical and humanitarian supplies to be sent to Gaza when access is open and we are reiterating calls for the delivery of humanitarian aid into Gaza, including via the Rafah crossing.

  • World Central Kitchen

WCK has provided more than 300 million fresh, nourishing meals for communities around the world. Your donation today will be used to support our emergency food relief efforts. World Central Kitchen is partnering with a local organization in Gaza to provide aid to Palestinians, and anyone else in need.

Please send a receipt to artplaypetaluma@gmail.com to redeem at our November 19th session, or just a screen shot in person.

If you are able to contribute money toward aid, please do. If that is not an option for your family, another form of direct action is to contact our representatives to call for de-escalation and a ceasefire:
